    They are legal in the state of California. However, there are many county & city laws prohibiting them. You just have to check your local laws.

    I am not positive, but I think they have to be native. Correct me if I am wrong

    Atrox are native to California. You will even see them in some select petstores where it is legal to own them. You just need to check local laws as they differ from county to count and cities as well......

    I forgot to mention that I am in northern Humboldt county so all we have around here is the oreganus. The laws aren't too clear on captive keeping around my parts.
