    Default Who likes Colubrids ?

I spent the last week pulling my Colubrids out of brumation . I know this is a boa constrictor heavy site but thought I would see who's interested in them . If anything you have to appreciate their colors .

I'm in! I'm dabbling with the thought of some type of Eastern or Cal King.

Thanksgiving day is the last day I feed any colubrids . Two weeks after their last meal I will start to lower my temperatures 5 degrees every 3 days from their normal hot spot of 84 degrees all the way down to 55 degrees .
Those Candy Clowns are harder to produce then one might think . First off there is no such thing as an albino theyri even though you see them acasionaly for sale on kingsnake . You have to breed a Theyri to an albino Ruthvens to create the hets and then breed the hets back to each other to get albinos . Now take the albino and breed it to a nelsons to once again get het for albinos that are called Clown kings . Breed the Clown king het albinos back to each other and tada Candy Clowns . The coolest thing is having the theyri (also called variable kingsnake) in the mix . Breed two Candy Clowns together and the patterns are all different from each other as you can see in the pictures .To think this project only took 15 years from start to finish !

Love those grey bands and the sinolan milk. Those are amazing. Big fan of most of the colubrids out there though.

These are not typical looking graybands . We selectively breed our graybands for the lightest grays and as much orange as we can get in them . Some people frown on me for not breeding locality specific graybands . As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder . I do like the locality specific ones too .
