    Default Sunset Albino Naja Kaouthia

Hello all. I have been keeping and breeding reptiles for over 15 years as well as worked at the Bronx Zoo in the herpetology department as a keeper. I figured a good way to introduce myself and break the ice is with a few pictures of my Sunset Albino Naja kaouthia. Some of you may follow me on Instagram (@east_coast_exotics)so you may have seen these pictures before. If you have I apologize. I made the hates out of construction paper, scotch tape, sharpie, acrylic paint, and for the santa hat I used the tip of a q tip for the top. Hope you all enjoy

    Beautiful!

I love NY. I've got lots of relatives in Jersey too.

Really cool twist with that snake!

Gorgeous animals!!! I don't think I would put a hat on their heads, you have more courage than me, that is for sure..lol

I am sure though that years of experience leads to certain knowledge that I don't have.

    Welcome to RI!

You sir have some big cojones to be putting those little tiny hats on a cobra , although I will say I do love the pics of him/her with hats on.

The tank is a 40g breeder cause he is only around 16" and the enclosure has a removable screen top and sliding front doors. So I made the hats and had my camera ready and i slid the front open and used a hook to make him stand at a certain spot. Then I use slight head jerks and dips to keep his attention focused while I reached my other hand over and carefully placed the hat on, took a picture, then I used long hemostats to take the hat off. Then repeat for the other hat.

I got some good feedback amd questions from people on Instagram so I am designing a cloth prototype to patent and market for people with reptiles.
