    OK,

Well, it seems as though I've been upstaged in the looks department LOL!

It's probably more fun having an MC gal riding with you than some dude with a high and tight following you in a pickup truck.

It appears you've hit pay dirt the last few days out there.

I like the ringed pattern on the tails of these bulls as it's somewhat reminiscent of scrub and certain carpet pythons.

Any luck with the hog nosed snakes yet?

    Sounds like more storms tomorrow.

If it rains big you'll find more snakes!

Very cool. I've always liked bullsnakes. We don't have them here, but we have their cousins the pine snake. I've never been lucky enough to find one though.

    Very nice specimens
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day drinking.

We have their other cousins (gopher snakes) here in Oregon . I caught 11 of them last summer, while running mountain trails . I love them, and have had them around all throughout my child-hood.
Just say "NO" to FACEBOOK !

I lived out west for a year and found many Gopher snakes. I thought it was neat how they could be found in wet marsh near the coast or out in the driest harsh scrub land and most everything in between. Tough, adaptable snakes...

Your post reminding me of something that I haven't remembered in a very long time, thanks for that...I caught three Gophers one day while fishing in some brackish backwater area near a sub base in northern California. I put them in a 5 gallon bucket between my roommate's bed and mine (barracks) with just a thin board on top with a note that read: "Rattlesnakes DO NOT TOUCH". A few hours later I returned and my roommate (who knew I would pick up anything) was sitting on his bed with his eyes glued to the bucket ticked off because I didn't secure the lid on the bucket! He had approached the bucket and one the snakes rattled it's tail against the side of the bucket and he was sure there were rattlesnakes in there! LOL It's a good thing I'm a big guy...I think he wanted to put the boot to me. Damn, that was 24 years ago...

    Great story LOL!

I used to be in close contact with a former Marine DI that was assisting us with some training at work. He would tell similar stories (not snake related) but that story reminded me of him for some reason.

BNS,,, if you are still checking threads tonight and I check this before I hit the rack, I'm looking for a rat purchase tomorrow. You interested?

I'm working 0600-1500 and will meet wherever you want.

    Back to topic.

How about a photo comparison or gopher and bull snakes??

    Anybody?

If Morgan's Boas (or any one else wants to) post them up on this thread or a new one...I'll play but I don't have any gopher photos.

    Hi Gio,
    I'll give you a call.
