» Classifieds - Random Ads
In an effort to make this painless for everyone there needs to be some rules.
1).Anyone posting a classified ad is responsible for the animals, or products they represent. Reptile Insider, it's owner, admin, and moderators are NOT responsible in any way for anything being represented or sold here. This is just a means to advertise your product or service. We are working on an honor system, so do your own foot work and check out what you are purchasing and whom you are purchasing from. Ask for references, pictures of the product or animal with a certain requested item in it to make sure they really do have it, see if they are paypal verified, your extra background research will usually pay off for you. If someone is unwilling to comply with your request, you may want to look elsewhere.
2). In the event that someone is dishonest with you, or you have a bad experience, try to work it out with them reasonably. Freaking out on someone usually doesn't do you a lot of good. If they can't do right by you, you can leave bad feedback, but DO NOT post publicly in the other reptile forums here. This is not a place to argue publicly. If someone is trying to run some sort of scam please report them to a moderator or the admin. Users with reports of being dishonest or scamming folks may be banned form the site permanently.
A). You must be a paid subscriber to post ads. there are accounts for 6 months or 1 year in your user CP under paid subscriptions.
B). If you subscribe to the classifieds premium account you may post as many ads as you like but please do not post the same product or animal more than once.
4). If your ad expires, or you delete it due to some change of info, that is fine you may re-list it. If you try and keep your ad at the top of a category by deleting it and re-listing it over and over your ad may be remove by a moderator. There is a one week minimum listing in the classifieds. If you really want to keep your ad at the top you may bump it every 3 days, the bump feature is on your actual ad.
5). Listing your email or phone number on your ad may be a good way for folks to contact you, it may also let anyone on the web contact you. Keep that in mind. If you don't list an email or phone number ONLY members will be able to contact you.
6). Know your local laws on what you can keep legally. It is your job to know, if in doubt check with your local fish and game department.
7). Feedback- You earn your own feedback. If you jerk someone around you can bet they aren't going to be happy, and probably won't leave good feedback. Keep that in mind when doing business here. We are not responsible for your feedback, you are. Treat your customers as you would expect to be treated and your probably going to do well.
Be reasonable represent your product and animals fairly and all will be great. We hope this becomes an outlet for the good guys in the business to sell their animals and products.
8.) If your ad looks like a scam, it may be deleted. Word your ads right.
All rules are subject to change, please check back and see the rules section periodically to make sure you are working within the guidelines.
Tips for selling:
1.) Point out what exactly you have to sell some folks may not know what they are looking at.
2.) You can upload pics right from your computer, I recommend doing this if folks don't see a thumbnail pic to lead them into the ad chances are they will just look at a different ad. You can also put pics in the text body of your ad just like you would do on the forums, but if you don't upload at least one pic to the ad from your computer you won't have a lead in thumbnail picture.
