i owned a few copperheads and they do smell like cucumbers! they emit a musk. actually the only hot herp i have owned. the ones i had were actually very docile. i eventually traded them for some roaches to feed my t's. its interesting to watch them feed they dont coil around their prey they envenomate it first and then just kinda swallow it head on....fascinating creatures.

Not to hijack this thread but post up your T's on the tarantula forum, I would love to see them.

Well we went back to Bluff road tonite, my daughter brought along a home grown comparison in case we found another copperhead. In the background is her sunflowers which are still growing tall and have not bloomed yet!

No copper head but I managed to sneak up on this ribbon snake, and btw her musk smells like flowers

My wife did the driving this time, we got to watch a beautiful sunset, and my daughter enjoyed the stars.

I had a Copperhead a while back, she was as mellow as a corn snake, seriously. She always smelled like cucumbers even without musking. There is a Cobra, I think the Egyptian, that smells exactly like maple syrup. My buddy has one and I was blown away...

That is a great pic of the little cherub

Yeah I have thought a cologne from snake musk would be a big seller ode-to-gartair
